DECONSTRUCT TO RECONSTRUCT 2006

In this project a good shirt was deconstructed into separate pattern parts which could then be reconstructed at will. Once you deconstruct a shirt what remains are the separate pattern parts. I recreated these pattern parts in various ways, for example in an installation, a video and in photographs. One could recognize the item as a shirt, but by taking it out of its context, all the separate parts received new meaning. The reason I chose a good shirt was because it is an archetype which symbolizes conformism, trying to fit in and being stuck in daily patterns.
